*Mean*:
Mean is the average of the data
Formula (for ungrouped data)
Sun of observations/total number of observations
For ex:
Observations=1,2,3
1+2+3/3
6/3=2
Hence, mean=2
More
*Mode*:
Mode is the highest no. Of frequency
For example:
1,2,3,2
Mode : 2(2 times)
*Median*:
Middle term
For example: 1,2,3,1
Converting it in increasing or decreasing order
Let convert it in decreasing order
3,2,1,1
Middle term: the number between 2 and 1
2+1/2
3/2
1.5=median

Hi there!

What is Mean?

The average of a given set of numbers is called the Arithmetic mean, or simply the mean, of the given numbers.

Mean = \frac{Sum \: of \: observations }{Number \: of \: observations }

What is Median?

After arranging the given data in the ascending or descending order of magnitude, the value of the middle most observation, is called the median of the data.

Formula to find the median :)

Method : Arrange the data in increasing or decreasing order of magnitude. Let the total number of observation be n.

(i) If n is odd, then median

⇒ Value of \mathsf{( \frac{n + 1}{2} )\th} observation.

(ii) If n is even, then median

⇒ mean of \mathsf{( \frac{n}{2} )\th} and \mathsf{( \frac{n}{2} + 1 )\th} observations.

What is mode?

Mode is the most frequently occurring observation.

At first arrange the data in ascending or descending order and then count the most occurring digit.

What is Range?

The difference between the largest and the smallest observation is called the range of the given data.

∴ Range = (largest number - smallest number).
