HERE IS UR ANSWER

"Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower" - Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is not a good representation of what we think as a typical leader other than he got results.  He was fired from his position at apple, people hated him, he didn't communicate well, etc.

So what made him a leader?  Influence.  In Emerging Leaders I feel we are learning how we can better influence people by being nice and communicating with them.  Almost like we are tricking them into liking us.  Our way of influencing them is to talk them into doing what we want.  Another method is by being so good at what we do, they have no choice but to follow.  For example, Steve came up with great ideas that were game changing ideas, so that influenced people to believe and follow him.  They didn't follow him for the kind of person he was, but the actual work he was able to do.

I think that the heart of this quote, it means leaders are the ones that come up with game changing ideas and start pursuing them and then people will follow.  I think that is one of the issues we have in politics at the moment.  We have people that are great speakers, great communicators, present them self well, etc... but do not actually do any work.  So I think it is important to keep in mind to be a great leader, we need to continue to make efforts to be experts in our area of expertise and continue to innovate and push the envelope in that area.
