Sthe distance covered from the top by a free-falling object is directly varying as the square of the time of the fall. A stone thrown from the top of a 120m tall building reaches the ground in 5 seconds. What is the height of another building (in m) from which the stone takes 7.5 seconds to reach the ground?

Answer:

180m

Explanation:

Distance1 = 120m

Time1= 5s

Distance2 = x

Time2 = 7.5s

D2 = (120 x 7.5)/5

D2 = 7.5 x 24

Distance2 i.e. the height of the 2nd building = 180m
