The correct question is:

From a stock of potatoes weighing 120 kg, Ratan sells portions weighing 6kg, 5¹/₄ kg, 9¹/₂ kg, 9³/₄ kg respectively.

i) How many kg did he sell?

(ii) How many kg are still left in the sack?

Given:

Weight of potato = 120kg

To find:

Now we have to find how many kg did he sell and how many kg are still left in the sack

Solution:

(i) potatoes  sold by merchant =6kg + 5¹/₄ kg + 9¹/₂ kg + 9³/₄ kg

It can be written as  = ( 6 + 21/4 + 19/2 + 39/4 ) kg

                                = 30¹/₂ kg

ii) Potatoes left in the sack = 120kg − 30¹/₂ kg

It can be written as  = ( 120/1 − 61/2 ) kg = 89¹/₂ kg

Therefore, the final answer are 30¹/₂kg and 89¹/₂kg, respectively.
