stomach of a desert plant remain closed during the daytime then how do they take up the carbon dioxide and perform photosynthesis

In deserted plants the stomata is closed during day time to reduce transpiration, therefore to compensate this the stomata are scoto-active (night opening) they take up CO2 at night. and perform CAM cycle
