Influx of potassium ions causes stomata of a plant to open.

Explanation:

According to the theory of reasons for the opening and closing of stomata is due to the movement of turgor of the guard cells. Furthermore in the process depolarization occurs the ions leave the cell.

Due to the unbalance of the membrane and involving anions channels activation. When potassium ions in the guard cells are accumulated it causes turgidity thus increasing the level of water that enters the guard cells.
