stone is dropped from a certain height whichcan reach the ground in 5 sec. If stone is stoppedafter 3 sec of its fall and then allowed to fall again,then what is the time taken by the stone to reachthe ground for remaining distance

displacement=Hmax=125m

as it is said that..the stone was stopped after 3 sec of its fall.

then, displacement=1/2gt^2=45m

therefore , remaining distance = (125-45)=80m

now. by using eq. of motion

s=ut+1/2gt^2

80=0+1/2×10×t^2

16=t^2

4=t

therefore, total time taken by the stone to reach at the ground = 4sec.
