A great Sikh ruler in the 19th century. Instrumental in bringing together all the 12 existing misl in Punjab under one rule.
Known for modernization reforms in punjab. Eventually made a deal with britishers to control the territory of punjab west of satluj. Unfortunately after his demise one of the last strong states were brought under the ambit of british india.
