It was scorching hot and a lion was feeling hungry. He came out of his den and searched here and there. He could find only a small hare. He caught the hare with some hesitation. "This hare cannot fill my tummy" thought the lion. As the lion was about to kill the hare, a deer ran that way. The lion became greedy. He thought, "Instead of eating this small hare, let me eat the big deer". He let the hare go and went behind the deer. But the deer had vanished into the forest. The lion now felt sorry for letting the hare off.
MORAL : A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
2. The Clever Fox.
It was scorching hot and a lion was feeling hungry. While walking, he saw a cave. When he walked inside, he came to know that a fox lived there. The fox wasn't there in the cave, she might have gone searching for food. The lion thought," I'll hide here and wait for the fox. When she enters I'll kill her and eat her. The lion hid. After some time, the fox came. She was surprised to see such big footprints outside her cave. She came to know that it was a lion's footprint. She thought for a while. A bright idea blinked in her brain. The fox said," Dear cave, why aren't you speaking today? Are you angry with me? Why aren't you welcoming me today? If you don't talk to me I'll go away." The lion heard it. He thought," I think this is a talking cave. It has stopped speaking because it knows I am here. I have to speak instead of it." He spoke "WELCOME MY DEAR FOX!!" The clever fox confirmed that it was the lion as there's no talking cave.
