Poor Wood Cutter

Once upon a time, somewhere a poor wood cutter lives. His name was Tomba. He has two daughters only for him. They live far from the village in a dense forest. As they live in a forest, his occupation was a wood cutter. Being a wood cutter , he doesn't cut only trees but also plants trees for the forest. By this, we know that he is a very kind person.

He sells his woods to a rich merchant of the village. Whenever Tomba comes to sell his woods, the merchant laughed at the wood cutter.

One day, a beggar was on the road. The beggar saw the merchant and he started begging him for food or money, but the merchant kick him as the beggar was disturbing him. Then, the beggar saw Tomba, so he doesn't beg him. But Tomba gave him some money to buy food.

So, who was more rich? Tomba or the merchant.

Moral : Being rich doesn't mean how much you have, being rich means how much you can give.

The poor woodcutter

Once upon a time , in a village called rampur there lives an honest woodcutter. His name was abhay . He was honest and sincere in his work.

Everyday he goes in the forest to cut tress . He sell the woods to the merchants and he earns money. He earned just about enough to make a living, but he was satisfied with his simple living.

One day, while cutting a tree near a river, his axe slipped out of his hand and fell into the river. The river was so deep, that he couldn't search his axe .He had only one axe which was gone into the river. He became a worried about thinking how he will be able to earn his living now! He was very sad and was crying. Suddenly a fairy came out from the River. He was very shocked . The fairy asked, “What is the problem, my son?” The woodcutter explained the problem and requested the Goddess to get his axe back.

The Fairy put her hand deep into the river and took out a silver axe and asked, “Is this your axe?” The Woodcutter looked at the axe and said “No”.

So the fairy put her hand back deep into the water again and showed a golden axe and asked, “Is this your axe?” The woodcutter looked at the axe and said “No”. The Fairy said, “Take a look again Son, this is a very valuable golden axe, are you sure this is not yours?” The woodcutter said, “No, It’s not mine. I can’t cut the trees with a golden axe. It’s not useful for me”.

The Fairy smiled and finally put her hand into the water again and took out his iron axe and asked, “Is this your axe?” To this, the woodcutter said, “Yes! This is mine! Thank you!”

The Goddess was very impressed with his honesty so she gave him his iron axe and also other two axes as a reward for his honesty.
