The fog surrounding me and my two best friends was thick, the air muggy and all sense of the world gone. As we walked on further into the woods it was difficult to know both where we were going and when we would get there. Fear was pounding at my heart, but there was no going back. I had to keep going. Me and my two best friends Emily and Mikaela, pushed forward struggling to breathe as we went. The track seemed to be endless. There was no where to go. We were lost in the middle of a dark black forest with no food no water, shelter, water or heat. That was when we started to panic.

My breath started to stager. It was too hard to keep going. My knees went weak and gave way. It felt as though I was falling. Falling through a deep dark tunnel. I had fainted.

I woke up shortly after with Emily slapping my face painfully and shacking me. A look of concern crossed with fear was upon Mikaela’s face. I tried to sit up but the pain in my stomach was unbearable. Finally I was able to sit up against the tree. Though as I sat the three of us remained silent. Up further away a wolf cried to the moon. Which was barley visible through the dense fog. It was hard to tell who was more scared. The looks on Emily’s and Mikaela face made me feel very uneasy.

We sat there for a minute that seemed to go for an eternity. As the trees moved in the aggressive wind, shadows of frighting shapes littered the ground.

As we moved on we came to a house. Which was very odd in such a deserted environment. We approached carefully not wanting any animals to know that we were walking in their land on. Their territory in which they guard viciously and greedily wanting to protect them their families and the place in which the protect greedily. As we approached, a wolf ran in front of us. Its blood red eyes were boring into us. We started to back away but there was no where to go. The wolf gave us a fleeting look that told us it would be back. I looked into Emily’s soft hazel eyes then into Mikaela’s vivid blue eyes. We walked on.

Finally we reached the house. Smoke was rising from a chimney and drifting softly into the air with out a care in the world. I knocked. There was a ringing silence that went for a time that seemed to want to last forever. No one answered.

I knocked again. A groaning noise came from within and a young beautiful woman steeped out. We were saved. She let us her phone. Ten minutes later a midnight blue care was speeding towards us. To rescue us. The journey home was enjoyable with a nice long nap. Everything was back to normal again.

A walk in the woods

I always like to take walks in the woods. It is amazing all the wonderful things that a person can see if they just take the time. I have a special place that I go to during the summer and I have since I was a child. I would walk down the dirt path through the trees and the smell of the wildflowers and the breeze blowing through my hair. To the left side of the path was an ole stump and I would sit on it what seemed like hours, just observing how the wind made the tree tops sway and made the flowers dance to the sound of the wilderness song. The birds would fly like they had no worries in the world and I would imagine what it would be like to be able to fly above and let the wind blow away my problems. I would then walk further down the path to where the pond was and watch the frogs sitting on lily pads basking in the sun. The butterflies of all beautiful colors landing on the flowers, I try to catch one to observe the amazing colors. I listen to the small creek that runs into the pond, the soft sound of running water. I lie back on the grass and close my eyes and enjoy the quietness from the city life. As I walk further into the woods I see a woodpecker drilling in holes in the trees and I hear the squirrels scurrying across the floor of the woods. They run and play like children on a playground carefree and full of life. Further in the woods I come across the cabin we used to stay in when I was a child. Now it looks like something you would see in a scary movie. Since the death of my grandfather no one comes here anymore and the cabin has given way to the force of nature. One time this was such a beautiful place. As I head back down the dirt trail it begins to sprinkle rain. The rain smells like fresh laundry that was put on a line to dry. It starts to thunder and rain harder I should run but I am amazed how the thunder goes across the sky like someone is writing a note. I watch as the animals...
