A famed cine star died a mysterious death in her apartment. Although the police suspect the husband, he has a perfect alibi for himself. He had booked an overseas travel ticket for himself on the day of the death and was not around when the death occurred. However, the police were not convinced and continued searching the premises. Suddenly, they came across a small piece of paper from under the actress’s bed.
When they examined it, the found that it was a part of a bill from a nearby chemist. Luckily, part of the bill number was visible. The police rushed to the chemist’s shop and showed him the bill. They asked him what was purchased on that bill. The chemist looked up his copy of the bill in the bill book and said that it was a combination of cyanide and the nicotine drug. The bill was found to be issued in the name of the husband on the day prior to his travel. Immediately, the senior police officer sent some of his subordinates to the airport to nab the husband. Luckily, the flight was delayed and they were able to catch him.
On interrogation, the husband confessed to having committed the crime. He said that he had injected a small portion of the combination drug into his wife’s body when she was asleep. Because the strength was quite high, the death was instant. His plan was to take all her earnings and repay his gambling debts.
