This is a story of a young boy named Ryan......
The Escape
It was 31st of October, Halloween when Ryan decided to go to the movies with his friends early in the morning. By the time the movie was finished, it was already 2:00 pm. Ryan bought his Halloween costume from his tailor and went to his house. Before he could ring the bell of his house, someone grabbed him from behind and took him to a nearby car. With all these sudden happenings, Ryan had become unconscious. When he came back to his senses, he found himself in a dimly lit chamber with a candle as the only source of light.
Nearby he saw a hooded figure who gave him some food. Ryan was full with rage and wanted to give a piece of his mind to the person who had kidnapped him. But before he could do so, the figure asked him to be patient and to have his food. The voice was familiar. Ryan thought and thought who was the person but in vain. The night passed. When it was dawn Ryan realized that his captor was still sleeping. He took this opportunity and freed himself from his ropes that bound him to a chair, with some difficulty.
Before leaving the chamber, he found a note in the captor's hand. It read " Ryan-to drown-in river-7:30-in morning" . It was signed off by a person named Joseph. Then Ryan realized what was happening. He quickly found the exit and went to the nearby local telephone booth and called Superintendent Jenks, the inspector who was Ryan's friend.
After calling and telling everything he knew to the Inspector, Ryan relaxed and went to a nearby cafe. There he thought over the recent happenings. It happened so that Ryan was an amateur detective and he had solved several cases. He had read about a person named Joseph in the city newspaper. He kidnapped children and asked for ransom from their family and upon receiving the ransom he ordered one of his men to drown the children.
The same happened with Ryan. Unfortunately, he had been held up by his own uncle, Uncle Kahled!!!! This explained the frequent disappearances of his Uncle from the household.
By the time the Inspector arrived, Kahled was alerted and was on the lookout of his nephew. He had spotted him in the cafe, and he tore in the building and took hold of Ryan at knife point. The Inspector had arrived in the nick of time and had arrested Kahled and had found the whereabouts of his boss and had arrested him too.
All in a day's work. It had really been a very narrow escape for Ryan from death's mouth...........
