story on matter matters (science )
Answers
Answer:
Matter matters
Explanation:
A Matter is everything around you. Atoms and compounds are all made of very small parts of matter. Those atoms go on to build the things you see and touch every day. Matter is defined as anything that has mass and takes up space (it has volume).
A Mass is the amount of matter in an object. You might have a small object with a lot of mass such as a statue made of lead (Pb). You might have a large object with very little mass such as a balloon filled with helium (He). You should also know there is a difference between mass and weight. Mass is a measure of the matter in an object while weight is a measure of gravity’s pull on an object.
The Volume is the amount of space something occupies. Words such as big, little, long, or short are used to describe volumes. A marble takes up a small volume while a star occupies a large volume. Different states of matter will fill volumes in different ways.
Matter Matters (science):
- There are a lot of things around us, most of which we may see and many of which we can’t see but if it occupies space it is a matter.
- It is the name given to everything that occupies a certain amount of space or area and also has a certain mass to it.
- From a subatomic level to very big terrains or objects, everything is made up of matter. Hence, we can say the most important thing around us that takes up certain space and matters, is a matter.
- From small to very big, everything described with these words, are those that occupy certain space comes under the matter.
- It is not that, something which is solid is the only thing that is considered as matter but even the things that are in the form of liquid or gaseous can be considered as matter with only a difference in their phases.
