Yes, I like going on trips. Usually, I enjoy going on adventure trips with my friends , where I can participate in water sports or mountaineering.

• For me, packing is the most tiresome and confusing job. However much I try to remember and pack all necessary things, I forget something or the other and get scolded for it.

• Yes, on many of my trips I have discovered to have forgotten my toothbrush, slippers, accessories, etc. back home. At times, I find it difficult to find some particular dress or cosmetic item or matching accessories because of the haphazard way in which I tend to pack my travelling bags.

• Normally, forgetting important things at home makes me angry and cranky.

•I forgot my things at home because I will be always late

Explanation:

There are many different types of travellers; there are business travellers, tourist travellers, adventure travellers and then there are VFR travellers. VFR – Visiting Friends and Relatives is a separate stream of travellers visiting their family and friends in countries they have migrated to or where they used to live.

VFR trips can be an emotional roller coaster for the person who is visiting their loved ones; happiness at seeing each other, excitement about catching up and spending time together, as well as sadness when having to leave again.

For the person accompanying the VFR traveller, these trips can be a struggle if there are different languages and customs involved, as well as the fact that spending 24 hours a day with someone else’s family is not always easy.

Often compromise is the only way to make it work for everyone. Spend a week with family and then spend a week exploring somewhere new for both parties. Some people spend part of the trip together and then go their separate ways for a while, allowing one to catch up with relatives and the other to explore new destinations. Mixing VFR with tourist or business travel makes it easier to please everyone on the trip. Pick a tourist spot in the country where you are visiting that no-one in your family has ever visited, visit a building/museum/business that you have always been interested in and you are now close by, take all your nephews and nieces to a local theme park…there are many ways to spend time with everyone and enjoy yourself.

Preparation for VFR travel can be a little different to packing for general travel. You will probably have constant access to washing machines but will need to spend some time lugging your bags from one spare room to another fold-out couch, so easy care and quick drying travel clothing is still a must. Keeping you travel wardrobe tight and versatile makes keeping track of your clothes and covering different social situations a lot easier. Then there is the actual division of space in your bag. My average weight of my check in luggage for long trips is 12 kg. When visiting family I usually end up with 16kg on the way over there and again on the way back. The extra 4 kg consists of presents and food stuffs from one

country, which are replaced by presents and food stuffs from the other country on the return journey. It seems silly, I know, but ask around how many people end up dong this and you will be surprised. It is definitely a good idea to take an extra carry-on bag that folds up very small, just in case you need it…
