Answer:
Self discipline is the best discipline
Imagine ,
you’re a sailor on a ship in the medieval times.
You’re a long ways from home, haven’t seen your family for a while and miss them terribly.
With a month still left to go on your return trip the crew starts to slow down.
Everyone is tired and exhausted and so are you.
Then, during the middle of the night, a storm hits.
In that moment, could you bring up the discipline to stand up?
The only way you get to see your family again, the only way you get to live is if you do the work.
Could you stand up in the middle of the night to brave the storm after such a long time at sea?
How about the next morning? The morning after that? And the morning thereafter?
Could you stand up every day, regardless how rough the night before has been?
A person that shows tremendous amounts of discipline does not care about their circumstances.
They don’t care how tired they are, how much their muscles ache or how badly they just want to rest.
All they care about doing what needs to get done to get where they want to go!
They give up their sleep, their motivation and even their well-being but they will see it through!
While most of us have excuses for every single thing, these sailors will live or die based on whether or not they allow their excuses to dominate their actions.
Of course not all of them wanted to work!
Of course they were scared, tired, exhausted and felt horrible at times, but none of those excuses were good enough to keep from doing the work.
The sea does not care how tired you are and neither do your dreams.
If you want to build self-discipline you have to treat your dreams with the commitment of a sailor aching to get back home.
You have to be the first to rise and the last to fall, you must make sure that this is more important to you than anything else!
No excuse should be good enough and no reason strong enough not to do what matters.
Because remember that every day you always have only two choices:
You can either work for your dream or let it die inside your arms.
“If you want to be successful as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.”
