Story outline:-
Bishop was a kind hearted nan and he gifted his entire life for church service and persome is the sister of bishop and she is described as a rude character but she was affectionate towards her brother bishop. Incident to highlight the kindness of bishop.
Mere gregorire was an old lady who was left helpless. Deeply moved by her pathetic situation the Bishop paid her house rent and medical expenses by selling a salt cellar which was considered to be precious for Persome.
Entry of Convict:-
When there was a wordy quarrel between the Bishop and Persome, a Convict entered the cottage with a knife. He threatened the Bishop with a knife for food. Even now the Bishop didn't lose his temper and requested Persome to give food for him not only food but also a shelter. He spared his cot.
Pathetic story of convict:-
The Bishop was patient enough to listen to the story of convict and the situation which forced him to steal.
The convict lead a life of poverty. The illness of his wife force him to steal medicine from the medical shop, the crowd h caught him and handed over him to the police.
He was behind the bars for nearly ten years. He was treated like a beast and the police even went to the extend of raping him in a chair.
Reconsideration part of the convict:-
The Bishop patiently listened to the convict and asked him to sleep. Later, the convict took the candlestick and escaped from the cottage. The Bishop was amicable with the convict and explained the police that the candlestick were gifted to the convict for his betterment the convict realised his mistake.
