On one hot summer day, a grasshopper was singing merrily and moving around here and there. On the other hand, a group of ants were working hard to collect grains. When the grasshopper saw the ants, he became curious. He asked them why they were working so hard. The ants replied that since winter was almost around the corner, it was essential for them to store food before time. They advised the grasshopper to do the same, however, the grasshopper paid no heed to it. He continued to sing and dance and waste his time.
Finally, when winter arrived, the ants were able to live through it easily since they had an abundance of food. However, the grasshopper, who did not make any efforts to gather and store food, was in a severe condition. He tried to ask the ants for help, but it is to no avail. Ultimately, he died of starvation. Had he listened to the wise advice of the ants, the outcome would have been different, he could have easily survived the winter, like the ants.
