A beautiful evening a family had a nice dinner. Since it was Grandpa’s birthday Mama had cooked his favourite dishes which included roasted chicken, fried rice, kheer. After the sumptuous meal it was story time. Since Grandpa was the birthday boy he began relating interesting anecdotes of his life. Soon all the elders joined in and the children happily listened to them wondering how their elders looked when they were small.
Everyone was engrossed in the tales when suddenly there was a crashing sound at the kitchen. Mama rushed thinking that the cat had silently crept in and turned the tumbler of milk. But what she saw shocked her so that she fainted. When she didn’t return Grandma got worried and went to the kitchen. She let out a huge scream. Hearing her all rushed to the kitchen.
What did they behold! Not a cat or a rat but a full grown leopard had entered through the kitchen window. Everyone started screaming and shouting and running helter skelter. Grandpa was the only one at ease. He got up, took a saucepan and a big feeding spoon and started clanking the pan with the spoon.
Hearing the cacophonic sound the leopard slowly retreated and leapt out of the window. The birthday boy had an unexpected birthday visitor, what a strange birthday encounter!
