Answer:

Better to be alone than in bad company

I have a friend, a classmate for years. He was the best student in school. He was the talk of the girls in school. His other classmates always knew he would score 100% in almost all subjects. His teachers love him. His parents were proud of him. Their hopes were high and they expected that one day he will become a successful person. Because of his good manners and discipline, he was well-known and admired by the people of his locality. He was helpful to his parents and never refused to do chores around the house. Other students of his school and his locality come to him if they problems with their lessons. But it did not last long. His story did not have a happy ending. As he passed high school and entered college he began to mix with bad company. Under their influence he slowly become a drunkard and a drug addict. He left his studies after he was arrested by the police in a drug peddling case and put behind bars for 6 months. I went to see him. Be looks messed up and that's the day I learned that it is better to remain alone then in bad company. We kept in touch even after his release from prison. It was too late. He was never the same again.

Better be alone than in bad company is a proverb which is a useful reminder for everybody. The wisdom behind this proverb ithat it is better off to be without any friends than to have friends with a bad character.

We are known by the company we keep. So it is better to be called a loner than to be labeled as a bad person like the friends we keep.

When we spend time with people who are not morally good, we may be influenced by them. Under their influence we may lose our good moral values and become a person of bad character. There are many young people who destroyed their life and career because they became alcoholics and drug addicts because of the bad company they kept. It is very important to choose our friends carefully and avoid bad company. In the long run, it is always better to be alone then to be in bad company.
