The parent teacher meeting was scheduled for tomorrow. After reaching school today, Raj came to know about it and felt his stomach tie into knots. He had been bunking school on and off to hang out with friends and to escape from the restrictions imposed on him by the elders in his family. He knew it was a wrong choice but he enjoyed his freedom from the restrictions which bound him. The news of the parent teacher meeting was quite alarming. It was an unavoidable situation for if he didn’t inform his parents about it, the school would call them to report. His teachers were worried and enquired frequently about him missing classes. He could easily dodge the questions shot at him with logical excuses but this was scary. He thought that if his teachers spoke to his parents about his irregularity, he would not be able to dodge the consequences. Desperately, he started racking his brain for a way out of this situation. After a lot of speculation, Raj thought of applying a logical strategy again. He walked into the Headmaster’s office confidently and told him that his parents had gone out of town to meet his grandfather who was very ill. He could convince the Headmaster and escape the situation. But he determined to not bunk classes again and be regular in all activities.

He went inside, opened his mouth to speak, but</p><p>then no words came out. He decided to try once again but the same thing happened.</p><p>Finally, he tried a third time, but failed again. Tears started rolling down his eyes.</p><p>Concerned, his mother rushed to him and asked him why he was crying. Slowly,</p><p>Rahul told his parents the full incident. His parents were angry at first, but then when</p><p>they saw that Rahul was feeling really guilty and was apologetic, they pardoned him.</p><p>Rahul promised to be regular in going to school and in doing his homework every</p><p>day.
