There was an old childless couple. They felt sad and lonely. The wife would flew dream of having a little child. So, both husband and wife prayed God. They meditated for years. At last, God appeared and asked their wish. They said they want a child. God said, "I want fulfill your wish on one condition. Tell me whether you want a child who is very bad, cruel and lives for 100 years or a child who is good, obedient and helpful but lives for only 16 years?" They asked for a good child. God disappeared and child was born. He was very liked by everyone. As years passed, he got much fame. He is 16 now his parents were worried. One day, the God of death(Yamraj), came to take him to heaven but the boy hugged Lord Shiva's idol and asked to save him. Lord Shiva appeared and saved the child and blessed him that he is immotral. This is the story of a great devotee, Markandeya.
