topic-what will happen if all the trees present on earth will disappear for one day
Answers
Answer:
Ecosystem collapse in many areas. If they popped out of existence one day, a large amount of biomass would just be gone. In addition erosion would be out of control in many of the world’s wettest regions. Certain cities (including the one I live in) would be washed away in a few short years.
Then there is the oxygen issue. It wouldn’t kill humankind, at least not entirely. Land plants provide half of the world’s oxygen, but the other half is provided by ocean life. Trees represent only one part of land plants. Others would fill the gap.
On the dark side people would feel lightheaded from lack of oxygen. On the plus side it would be harder to light a fire for a little while. I suspect chain smokers would be hardest hit. They would go through many more lighters for a start (trying to keep a cigarette lit) and if they did succeed in smoking as much as they did before the lack of oxygen might just kill them.
It is likely to effect climate change on a pretty large scale. All that silt washing into the oceans would have quite an effect first of all. The whole water cycle would be changed by the changing landscape. Mass extinction is almost never good for the climate. You wouldn’t have the dead mass of the trees, so all that would be left is the dead mass of birds and many other creatures that depend on trees for survival.
Also, worst of all we would lose many tree fruits. Imagine a world without bananas, citrus fruit and apples. So the nutrition of the planet and overall happiness would be on the decline.
