Straight line is obtained on drawing the graph of current against potential difference,this proves Ohm's law.

• According to the Ohm's law we get the following mathematical equation :

V = I R

Here, V = Voltage or the potential difference.

I = Current

R = Resistance

• So, it states that the potential difference is directly proportional to the amount of current.

• So,when we increase the amount of current the potential difference will be also increased in an uniform way.

• That's why current and potential difference will form a straight line on the graph,as per the formula of Ohm's law.
