↪️STRAIGHT LINE ↩️

Let ( X1 - Y1 )= (1,2)

( X2 - Y2 ) = ( 3,4)

Equation of straight line =

y - y1 = ( \frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1} )(x - x1) \\  \\ y - 2 = ( \frac{4 - 2}{3 - 1} )(x - 1) \\  \\ y - 2 = 1(x - 1) \\  \\ y =  x  + 1

Equation of line is Y = X + 1

First you find the gradient of the line using the formula:

 \frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}

 \frac{4 - 2}{3 - 1}  =  \frac{2}{2}  = 1

Next, use the equation of a line which is

(y - y1) = m(x - x1),   where  \: m \:  is \:  the \:  gradient

(y - 2) = 1(x - 1) \:

y - 2 = x - 1 \:

Therefore,  \:

y = x + 1 \:
