The final temperature of water in the calorimeter will be 38.07°C.

- Let the final temperature of water in the calorimeter be T

- We know that :

Heat lost by water = Heat gained by Calorimeter

⇒ 0.1 × 4200 × (40 - T) = 100 × (T - 30)

⇒ 168 - 4.2 T = (T - 30)

⇒ 5.2 T = 198

⇒ T = 38.07°C

Answer:

32.88 °C

Explanation:

let the temperature of water in calorimeter is 1.

then heat lost by water = heat gained by calorimeter

(0.1) × 4200 × ( 40 - t ) = 100 ( t - 30 )

= 420 × 40 - 420t = 100t - 300

t = 32.88 °C
