Strawberry is sweet and eaten raw just like any other fruit. Why do botanist call it is a false fruit ?​

In most of the plants, by the time fruit develops from the ovary, other floral parts degenerate and fall off. However, in case of strawberry, thalamus also contributes in fruit formation. So, it is called false fruit.

true fruit is develope from ovary which is the lower region of pistil and the female sex organ of the flower.Sometimes the bulk of the fruit is not derived from the ovary but from some other part of the flower is called false fruit.
