Answer:

I think the major strengths of India are perseverance and persistence.

The people of India endure almost everything and have now achieved this tenacity to be able to survive any hardship and still continue on. India and its citizens are dogged and firm, and we have notable examples which support my claims.

Mahatma Gandhi and his principles of non-violence is the best example. When Gandhi inspired people to use peaceful tactics to end British imperialism, the whole of India stood steadfast and successfully gained Independence.

Another example is India's economy. Even in the face of major divisions in thinking, global economic recession and a large diversity which has seen many incidents of clashes, India has successfully shown why it is one of the world's fastest growing economies by consistently grossing a good annual growth rate.

And its role in the non-aligned movement which made countries stay neutral in the face of the cold war have shown that India is strong, firm and unyielding to the pressure put forth on it by other nations.

So India has, over the past half a century, gone from being a severely impoverished country to being a world leader in most fields.

But the same persistence and perseverance also have a share of negatives, like how Indians don't fight back against corruption or rape or the social evils like dowry and female foeticide and infanticide. And how we keep enduring the terror attacks on major cities without doing much to stop them once and for all.

But on the whole India's persistence has been more positive than negative and has led to India being a strong country in the global political and economic scenario.
