Striker is shot from a square carrom board from a point exactly at midpoint of one of the ball with the speed of 2 metre per second at an angle of 45 degree with the x-axis as shown the collision of the striker with the wall of the fist Karam a perfectly elastic the coefficient of kinetic friction between the striker and board is point to the co-ordinate of the striker when it stops taking. The distance X which the striker traverses during its motion is equal to √((1/2√2)^2 + (1/2√2)^2) = ½ = 0.5.

The initial kinetic energy of striker transfers into heat as a result of the work against the friction = ½ mv^2 = µmgs.

Therefore S= distance travelled by striker = v^2/ 2µg = 4/( 2* 0.2* 10) = 1m = 2x.

Thus the striker stops at the midpoint of top side.

The answer is (1/2√2. 1/√2)
