Artery is thick walled( thick tunica media) whereas vein is thin walled

Artery has narrow lumen and vein has wide lumen

Arteries don't have valves whereas veins have valves

If an artery is compared to a coresponding vein the size of the artery would be smaller, its lumen would be smaller, the wall would be thicker.
