Ethanol is the second group of alcohol group.

It is pleasant smell with burn taste. It's boiling point is 118 C. it is Voltaire liquid.

this reaction is dehydration reaction. Cons H2SO4 removed water from ethanol.

when C2H5OH (methanol) is heated with cons H2SO4 then it gives ------------:CH2=CH2 ( ethene) + water.

formula:CH3CH2OH

after heating it it becomes C2H4+H2O

Role of H2SO4:dehyrating agent
