Structure and function of the heart. You must be able to identify the four chambers of the heart. These are the right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle. You must also know the path followed by blood as it passes through the heart and its blood vessels.

The main function of the heart is to circulate blood throughout the body. It is a chambered organ which is capable to separating oxygenated and deoxygenated blood into different chambers in order to bring "used" blood from the body and send it to lungs to be oxygenated.
