A. Fore brain:

(i) Olfactory lobes control the sense of smell.

(ii) Cerebrum: (a) Controls the voluntary functions of body.

(b) Has sensory areas of taste, smell, sight and hearing.

(c) Seat of memory, will, intelligency and learning.

(iii) Thalami acts as relay centres.

(iv) Hypothalamus controls hunger, thirst, body temperature, etc. It also forms a part of pituitary gland.

B. Mid brain: (i) Optic lobes control visual reflexes of light and auditory reflexes of sound.

(ii) Cerebral peduncles coordinate hind brain with fire brain.

C. Hind brain: (i) Cerebellum controls equilibrium and posture of body.

(ii) Medulla oblongata controls involuntary functions of visceral organs like heart beat, respiration, saliva secretion, peristalsis etc.

(iii) Pons coordinates the voluntary muscles of two sides of body.
