An atom has 3 sub atomic particles such as protons, neutrons and electrons. Electrons are negatively charged particles that revolve around the nucleus in discrete orbits, Protons are positively charged particles and neutrons are neutral in nature[not charged], protons and neutrons are collectively found in the nucleus. THE NUMBER OF PROTONS IS ALWAYS EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF ELECTRONS.
