the cell organelle which contains chlorophyll pigment is called "chloroplast".
These are green coloured plastids found in all green plant parts i.e., mesophyll cells of the leaves.
these are lens shaped, oval, spherical, discoid or even ribbon like organelles having variable length and width.
Each chloroplast is bounded by double membrane envelope and the gap present between to membranes is called as periplastidial space  of about 10nm wide.

Answer :-

The structure of Chloroplast is as follows :-

  • Each Chloroplast is covered with a double membrane containing a proteinaceous matrix called Stroma.

  • Stroma is the ground substance of chloroplast which contains a small circular double stranded D.N.A. (Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid), Ribosomes and several enzymes.

  • Chloroplasts consist of 70s type Ribosomes which include 23s and 16s R.N.A. (Ribo Nucleic Acid).

  • Many sheet-like lamella called Thylakoids occur in the stroma.

  • Each chloroplast usually consists of 40 to 100 grana.
