Structure - mitochondria is surrounded by two memberane. The space b/w two memberane called intermitochondrial spece. The other membrane is smooth while inner membrane is finger like structure called cristae. On these cristae small granules are present called F1 particles. ATP synthesis takes place un F1 particles.

Function- in mitochondria oxidation of food takes place. In mitochondria formation of energy takes place in the form of Atp

Answer:

The structure of the mitochondrion is adapted to the function it performs: Outer membrane – the outer membrane contains transport proteins that enable the shuttling of pyruvate from the cytosol. Inner membrane – contains the electron transport chain and ATP synthase (used for oxidative phosphorylation)
