structure of active voice and passive voice

Active form

  • ever is in the active voice when its form shows that the person of things denoted by the subject does something or is the doer of the action.
  • example :- Ram help Hari . in this sentence RAM is the subject does something

passive form

  • ever is in the passive voice when it's from source that something is done to the person or thing denoted by the subject.
  • example:- Hari is helped by Ram.

In this sentence something is done to Hari (the person denoted by the subject) Darbar hand is in the form of passive voice.

there are few rules for the conversion of active to passive voice.

  1. Object of transitive verb become the subject of the verb in the passive voice.
  2. If the transitive verb has two objects any of the two object can become the subject in the passive voice.
  3. The preposition verb should not be dropped when changing from active voice to passive voice.
  4. To change the auxiliary verb from active voice to passive voice add be along with the past participle of the verb.
  5. To change imperative sentence 'let .....be' is used .If the sentence is to remain as imperative otherwise 'should be' is used.
  6. when in an imperative sentence a transitive verb is used ,then it is change to passive voice in the following manner:-
  • active voice :-get out.
  • passive voice:-you are ordered to get out.
