Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Time to cross the pole = 5 sec

Time to crosses the tunnel = 20 sec

Formula used:

Speed = Distance/Time

Calculation:

Let the length of the tunnel be x m and the length of the train be y m

Time = Distance/Speed

⇒ 5 = (y/90)

⇒ y = 450 m

Time to crosses the tunnel = Distance/Speed

⇒ 20 = (y + x)/90

⇒ 20 × 90 = (450 + x)

⇒ x = 1800 - 450 = 1350

∴ The length of the tunnel is 1350 m.

Answer:

Speed of train = 72 km/h and length of train = 100m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, length of the train is = L m.

Time taken to cross an electric pole = 5 sec.

Time taken to cross a railway bridge of 600 m long = 35 sec.

While crossing the electric pole train covers distance = L m.

While crossing the railway bridge train covers distance = L + 600 m.

By using the formula,

Speed = Distance / Time

Speed of train = \frac{L}{5} = \frac{L + 600}{35}

                           35L = 5L + 3000\\30L = 3000\\L = 100

So, length of train = 100 m.

Speed of train = \frac{100}{5}

                        = 20 m/s\\= \frac{20*3600}{1000} km/h\\ =72 km/h

So, speed of train = 72 km/h.
