Given :-

Distance travelled by student A = 75 m

Time taken by student A = 15 sec

Distance covered by students B = 80 m

Time taken by student B = 20 sec

To Find :-

Compare the speed of both the students, mention who is greater.

Analysis :-

Here we are given with the distance and time of two students A and B respectively.

Using the formula of speed substitute the given values from the question and compare accordingly.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • d = Distance
  • t = Time
  • s = Speed

Speed covered by student A,

Using the formula,

Speed = Distance/Time

Given that,

Distance (d) = 75 m

Time (t) = 15 sec

Substituting their values,

⇒ s = d/t

⇒ s = 75/15

⇒ s = 5 m/s

Speed covered by student B,

Using the formula,

Speed = Distance/Time

Given that,

Distance (d) = 80 m

Time (t) = 20 sec

Substituting their values,

⇒ s = d/t

⇒ s = 80/20

⇒ s = 4 m/s

By comparing both,

5 > 4

Student A > Students B

Therefore, the speed of students A is higher.

G I V E N:-

  • Student A travelled distance of 75m in 15sec.
  • Student B travelled distance of 80m in 20sec.

T O F I N D:-

  • Whose speed is greater student A or student B.

S O L U T I O N:-

We know,

Here

️ ➭ D = Distance

️ ➭ S = Speed

️ ➭ T = Time

To find the speed of the student A and B we have to use the speed formula:-

{\bf{\color{yello}{ \: ⟶ \: Distance \:  =  \:  \frac{speed}{time \: } }}}

{\bf{\color{yello}{ \: So, \:}}}

Speed of Student A =

{\bf{\color{yelow}{\: Speed \: of \: Student \: A \:  =  \: \cancel{ \frac{75}{15} }}}}

\boxed{\bf{\color{yelow}{ Speed \:  =  \: 5m/s \:  }}}

Speed of Student B:-

️ ➭ {\bf{\color{yelow}{\: Speed \: of \: Student \: A \:  =  \: \cancel{ \frac{80}{20} }}}}

\boxed{\bf{\color{yelow}{ Speed \:  =  \: 4m/s \:  }}}

\boxed{\bf{\color{yelow}{∴ The \: speed \: of \: Student \: A \: is \: greater. }}}
