Student of a class are made to stand in a row. If one student is extra in a row, there would be 2 rows less. If one student is less in a row, there would be 3 rows more. Find the number of students in the class.

Let the number of students in each row be y

According to question,

y+1(x-2)=xy..........1

y-1(x+3)=xy......2

Solving 1 and 2...

x-2y=2.....1

-x+3y=3......2

y=5

x=12

So the total number of students will be 60
