The question would be quite simple, If one will use the approach like done here :-

Let full marks in each exam be 100.

So, marks scored in first exam = 50.

and, in second = 70

Now, full marks (after adding i,ii,iii) of three exams = 300.

to get 70℅ over all, one should score \frac{70}{100} \times 300 = 210 overall.

Now, marks in i + ii exam = 120.

Remaining marks to be scored in iii test = 210 - 120

= 90 Answer.

thus, percentage = 90℅

Given :

Marks scored in 1st exam = 50 %

Marks scored in 2nd exam = 70 %

Let,

The full marks be 100 marks.

So,

Marks scored in 1st exam = 50 marks

And

Marks scored in 2nd exam = 70 marks

Now, Total 3 exams are held.

•°•

Total full marks = 3 × 100 = 300 marks

✒ A student should score 70 % marks as an overall score.

Total overall marks -

= ( 70 / 100 ) × 300

= 210 overall marks

Now,

Total marks scored by the student in first two exams = 50 + 70 = 120 marks

Marks he has to score in 3rd exam = 210 - 120 = 90 marks

•°•

He has to score 90 % marks in 3rd exam.
