Students is provided with three resistors how many different equivalent resistances can be produced if all three of the resistors are used in a circuit

4 types of equivalent resistence can be carried out through 3 resistors.

Resistance in these 4 resistors:-

i) All are in parralel so,

= 1/r1 + 1/r2 + 1/r3

= r2r3 + r1r3 + r1r2/r1r2r3

ii) All are in series so,

= r1 + r2 + r3

iii) r1 + ( 1/r2 + 1/r3)

= r1 + (r3 + r2)/r2r3

iv) 1/r1 + 1/( r2 + r3)
