Given - Number of coins

Find - Multiple answers

Solution - Let the number of 1 Rupee coins be x.

So, the number of 10-rupee coins are x/2, 5-rupee coins are x/3 and 2-rupee coins are x/4.

Now, total number of coins are 400. So, finding the value of x.

x +  \frac{x}{2}  +  \frac{x}{3}  +  \frac{x}{4}  = 400

Taking LCM of 2,3,4, we get 12

 \frac{(x \times 12) + (x \times 6) + (x \times 4) + (x \times 3)}{12}  = 400

12x + 6x + 4x + 3x = 400 \times 12

25x = 4800

x =  \frac{4800}{25}

x = 192

Number of 1 Rupee coins = 192

Number of 10 Rupee coins = 192/2

Number of 10 Rupee coins = 96

Number of 5 Rupee coins = 192/3

Number of 5 Rupee coins = 64

Number of 2 Rupee coins = 192/4

Number of 2 Rupee coins = 48

(i) Number of 1-rupee coins collected were 192.

(ii) Number of 2-rupee coins collected were 48.

(iii) Number of 10-rupee coins collected were 96.

(iv) All the 2-rupee coins were invested in making diyas. So, investment= 48*2

Investment = Rs. 96
