Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no. of one rupee coin = m

m/2 + m/3 + m/4 + m = 400

or, 6m + 4m + 3m + 12m = 12 × 400

or, 25m = 4800

or m = 192

Given:

Students of school prepared some articles on the occasion of Deepawali to help the poorpeople. They made Diyas, Candles , Rangoli art designs, Flower decoration kits andhome made sweets, and distributed in a slum area. They collected total money ₹ 1568 . They got 1 rupee coins , 2 rupee coins , 5 rupee coins and 10 rupee coins.The number of 10 rupee coins are half of 1 rupee coins , 5 rupee coins are one third of 1 rupee coins and 2 rupee coins are one fourth of 1 rupee coins. Total number of coins are 400. Total amount of 2 rupee coins is invested on making diyas and amount of 10 rupee coins invested on making sweets.

To Find:

The amount invested on making diyas and sweets.

Solution:

Let the number of 1 rupee coins = m

The above can be interpreted in the following way:

m/2 + m/3 + m/4 + m = 400

6m + 4m + 3m + 12m = 12 × 400

25m = 4800

m = 4800 / 25 = 192

So,

Number of 1 rupee coins = m = 192

Number of 2 rupee coins = m/4 = 192/4 = 48

Number of 5 rupee coins = m/3 = 192/3 = 64

Number of 10 rupee coins = m/2 = 192/2 = 96

Investment on making Diyas = 2 x 48 = 96 Rupees

Investment on making sweets = 10 x 96 = 960 Rupees

Hence, students invested 96 rupees on making diyas and 960 rupees

on making sweets.
