Answer:

The gravity on the surface of Mars is 0.376 g - so everything weighs 37.6% of what it would on Earth. So a 7kg bowling ball (here on Earth) weighs about 2.6kg on Mars - and an average 88kg man weighs about 33kg on Mars.

The gravity on the surface of the Moon is 0.165 g - so everything weighs 16.5% of what it would on Earth. So that 7kg bowling ball weighs about 1.2 kg on the Moon and our average man weighs just 14kg on the Moon.

The reason for the different amount of gravity in those places is a consequence of two things:

The mass of the planet/moon matters because the amount of gravity is proportional to the mass of the object. Heavier objects have more gravity than lighter ones of the same size.

The radius matters because the amount of gravity also varies in inverse proportion to the square of it’s radius…meaning that larger objects have less gravity than smaller ones of the same mass.

Because larger objects also tend to be heavier, these two factors operate against each other - so the result requires a bit of math to figure out.

The mass of Mars is only about 11% that of Earth and it’s radius is 53% that of Earth. So it’s a lot lighter - but not all that much smaller.

The mass of the Moon is only about 1.2% that of Earth and it’s radius is 27% that of Earth. So it’s a hell of a lot lighter - but also quite a bit smaller.
