1. 1/3+ x =7/12

x = 7/13 - 1/3

x =1/4

2. 2/3 + y =13/15

y = 13/15 - 2/3

y = 1/5

3. 3/10 + 1/5 = 1/12+z+1/6

5/10 = z + 3/12

z = 5/10 - 3/12

z = 1/4

Answer:

1) 1/4

2) 1/5

3) 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Concept= Fraction Addition

Given= Fractions and their sum

To find= The missing fraction values

Explanation=

We have been provided with the pictorial representation of the question where it says that we need to find the missing fraction in lowest form in an order such that the sum of the two is equal to the third.

We will suppose the missing fraction value x in the individual problems.

1) x+1/3=7/12

  => x= 7/12 - 1/3

  => x= (7-4)/12 (the lcm of 3 and 12 is 12)

  => x= 3/12 = 1/4

2) 2/3 + x= 13/15

   =>x= 13/15 - 2/3

   => x= (13-10)/15 (lcm of 3 and 15 is 15)

   => x= 3/15= 1/5

3) 3/10 + 1/5 = 1/12 + x + 1/6

   => (3+2)/10 = (1+12x+2)/12  (Here the lcm of 10 and 5 is 10 and the lcm of

                                                                                                   12 and 6 is 12)

  => 5/10 = (3+12x)/12

  => 1/2=  (3+12x)12

  => 1=(3+12x)/6

  => 6= 3+12x

  => 6-3=12x

  => 3=12x

  => x= 3/12= 1/4

Therefore we have found all the missing fractions such that the sum of fractions of each side is equal.
