The process of release of the mature egg from the ovary is called as ovulation.

It is fully controlled by means of Leuteinizing Hormone which is secreted through anterior pituitary gland. Pregnancy takes place when the egg is fertilized by the sperm & hence the fertilized egg is inserted into the placenta of endocrine gland.

The parturition is the average duration of human pregnancy which is about 9 months known as gestation period.
