• Box E is two places below Box A and four places above Box B. Hence there is one box between A and E and 3 boxes between E and B and therefore a total of 7 boxes between A and B including both.

• Hence either A is the first or second box as there are only 8 spaces.
• _ A _ E_ _ _B is the combination. As Box C and Box G are equidistant from start and end, they can only be at positions 3 and 6.
• Let C be at 3 and G at 6, this makes the combination _ A G E _ C _ B.
• As there is only one box between G and D, D can be either at 1 or 5.
