1.The image of an object placed between 2F1 and F1 forms beyond 2F2 and not between F2 and 2F2

Explanation:

In the given ray diagram, a convex lens is shown. When the ray of light passes parallel to principal axis, it will pass through the focus of the lens. When the ray pass through the optical center of the lens, it will go undeviated.

The object is placed between 2F₁ and F₁ and the image is formed between F₂ and 2F₂. The size of image is smaller than the size of object.

The mistakes committed by the student while tracing it are :

(1) The image is formed at the wrong point. When the object is placed between  2F₁ and F₁, the image should form beyond 2F₂.

(2) The size of image should be enlarged.      

(3) The distance form optical center to F₁ is not equal to distance from optical center to F₂. Both distances should be equal.
