Study the magnet X and Y given below: a) If B is the north pole of the magnet X, which is the north pole of magnet Y. b) What will happen when A is brought close to C?

First of all the basic charecter of magnet is like pole get repulsed and unlike pole get attracted

a)From above figure it is very clear that both magnets are repulsing each other

So,B and C must be like poles

Given that B is North pole so C must be North pole

Now its is clear that

in 1st magnet in 2nd magnet

A is south pole. C is North pole

B is North pole. D is South pole

b)When A(south pole) and C (North pole) Brought close they will attract as they are unlike poles

c)Another charecter of magnet is at poles there is more attractive power/magnetic power

From the table

At M and O more paperclips were attracted so M and O be the poles of magnet
